Tam Valley Walk-A-Thon 2024
Sunday, October 20th, 2024 | 12 pm to 3 pm
What is Walk-a-Thon?
This year the Walk-A-Thon is on Sunday, October 20th from 12-3pm.
The annual fall Walk-A-Thon combines school fundraising with an awesome event where your children walk, or in some cases run, laps for the school. Last year, each participating student walked an average of 13 laps (or 4.2 miles) at the event! About 80% of the school community joins the festivities, making the Walk-A-Thon a great chance for families to get to know each other and our Tam Valley community. We will also have food, ice cream, baked goods and live music to enjoy! Read on to learn all about the event and please contact fundraising@tamvalleypta.com with any questions or if you’d like to volunteer.
Is Walk-a-thon a fundraiser?
YES! The Walk-A-Thon is an annual and beloved Tam Valley tradition. Plus, the funds raised through Walk-A-Thon make up 45% of the annual PTA budget; making Walk-A-Thon not only a community-building event but also a major fundraiser.
The week leading up to Walk-A-Thon we launch an incredible online auction. Parents will have an opportunity to shop the auction and bid on items like parent-hosted parties, gift certificates to restaurants, camps, beauty services, vacation homes, class treasures, teacher tripping, and more. And 100% of this money goes to Tam Valley PTA to fund educational resources (like garden and assemblies) and other programming for our Tam Tigers!
Did you know that Tam Valley PTA has budgeted funds to ensure that all programming such as yearbooks, family event tickets, adult-only event tickets, food and beverages at family events, book sales, outdoor ed, etc. is accessible to all of the families in our school community?
We understand that finances should never stand in the way of building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community at Tam Valley. Financial assistance is readily available because we truly value the participation of every parent/guardian at our community events. PTA has reserved resources available.
